Has Game Time preparation got you in a quandary? With some help from Walmart, here is what I did:
I love food and I love sports. And most of all, I love planning a festive event combining the two when hosting a game time get-together. And although I love to cook, sometimes I don't have the time to prepare an elaborate spread and continuously look for cost-effective alternatives. I feel even more strongly in this regard, particularly when sports are involved. After all, nobody wants to miss a minute of the big game and I am always in search of creative football party ideas that allow me to enjoy every moment of the action as much as my guests do.
So this year, I chose Walmart to help me put together a game time feast that I knew my guests would not only enjoy, but one which offered minimal effort in terms of preparation while allowing me the convenience of enjoying every minute of the game.

I entered my local Walmart and although I did not know the exact details of what I was planning to offer my game time companions, I had a couple of ideas and knew precisely where I wanted to begin my search - the frozen food aisle.

I knew wanted something a bit more more filling than pretzels and chips for my guests to pick on, and for some reason, I was intrigued by the familiar Hot Pockets Sandwiches.
I've purchased this product in the past, but since doing so, there seems to be quite a few more varieties available to the shopper. Two of which drew my immediate attention were Pepperoni Pizza with Garlic Buttery Seasoned Crust and Ham and Cheese with Croissant Crust. My mind was suddenly filled with an array of serving ideas and I decided, this would be my party's "finger food".

I grabbed a 12-Value Pack box of each of the varieties I mentioned above, thinking they would be something I could prepare ahead of time in my oven and arrange in a fun display for my guests to snack on. If someone wanted one reheated at some point during the game, my microwave was but a few steps away.

For me, a big part of any party's success is not only great food and good friends, but also, a fun and festive atmosphere. I, as a host, feel responsible to provide that. So for my party, I chose to create little food stations, each with fun graphics surrounding the serving platters. With a little help from my computer and printer, as well as a few small props, it was easily accomplished!

I put several of these platters out and my guests loved them.
Continuing my journey through the frozen food aisle, I also sought something that would be a heartier offering to my guests. Something more filling than finger-foods and snacks that could be served during game time... PIZZA!
In terms of frozen pizza, my choice has always been DiGiorno, for in my opinion, there are few better.

I decided upon the DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza and grabbed several boxes as I knew they would be a hit. And with a bake time of approximately 25 minutes, I figured I could throw a couple in the oven between quarters and have a continuous flow of goodies, while keeping my eye on the game.

I gave the pizza platters the same treatment with graphics and props. Again, my guests marveled at the creative effort!

Standing in the frozen food aisle, I now turned my attention towards "halftime". I wanted to serve my guests something that could be easily prepared, yet felt like I put a lot of effort into the meal's preparation.

For this feat, I chose Stouffer's Party Size Lasagna with Meat Sauce and Cheese. I figured I could pop it in the oven during the first half, and it would be piping hot and ready to serve by halftime, which it was. I looked like a superstar!

Amidst the festive atmosphere of balloons and props, I set the lasagna on my counter and served delicious portions for all to enjoy during the halftime show.

Lastly, I turned my attention towards serving my guests something cool and refreshing during the final minutes of the game. I contemplated pre-made sundaes in a variety of funky glasses that could be pulled out and drizzled with syrup in a pinch. But I truly felt like I scored a touchdown myself when I spotted the EDY'S Limited Edition Touchdown Sundae Ice Cream! I quickly plucked two from the shelf, as well as an 8-ct package of NESTLE Crunch Dipped DRUMSTICK Cones.

As I suspected, the sundaes served in a variety of cocktail and wine glasses while given the same festive backdrop, was a smashing success.

In fact, the entire day was a smashing success. With the help I had gotten from Walmart in terms of price and selection, it was easy to have a creative game time get-together while staying within my budget, and more importantly, allowing me to see as much of the game as my guests did. The only thing that could've made the event even better was if my team would have won.
