After last night's storm which left the landscape here in northern New Jersey blanketed in six or seven inches of heavy, dense snow, my morning was filled with yearnings for nothing more than lighting a warm fire and cooking a big bowl of hearty chili. Luckily, I had the necessary ingredients on hand, and along with a delicious peppery Syrah from South Africa, whipped up a batch that was a sure cure for the Winter blues!
