Food can be described as many things to many people. There are those who describe their favorite foods as delicious, scrumptious, yummy, tasty, or delectable, or perhaps, their least favorites as yucky or unpalatable. There are those who see food simply as a source of nutrition and a life-sustaining necessity, and little more.
To many, the simple task of turning basic ingredients into what we call a meal can be described as a pastime, a hobby or obviously, a career.
Conversely, it isn't always rainbows and cupcakes. For many, cooking is a chore that amounts to little more than a daily necessity, and the only enjoyment they get from it is when it is done for a special occasion.
Whatever the case or whatever category you fall into, one fact that is wholly undeniable is that at least some portion of each family's daily life takes place within the kitchen. So doesn't it make sense that we try to throw "fun" somewhere into the equation?
Thinking along those lines, Foodidude and the Faux Gourmet have decided to collaborate on putting some "fun" back into the mix when it comes to the kitchen... by not only dressing up food, but those who prepare it as well. And her unique Tutu Fabulous Collection - a sassy, modern interpretation of the classic apron designed to entice the current culture of ladies into the kitchen - does just that!
Having said that, I am pleased to announce that the Faux Gourmet will be joining the Foodidude family as regular columnist - not only sharing her wonderful recipes, but also, her highly-caffeinated perspectives on food, fashion and family, as well as her Tutu Fabulous Collection product line of ladies aprons.
With that, she dashed down the hallway and disappeared into her room, reappearing with her favorite brightly colored tutu in hand.
“What exactly are you planning on doing with that?” I asked, confused.
“Putting it on!” she exclaimed, as if wearing a tutu under her apron made the most perfect sense in the world. Suddenly inspired, we traded wooden spoons and mixing bowls for pencils and sketch pads and set out to design an apron unlike anything encountered in a kitchen before.
Merging our obsessions with food, fashion and all things fabulous, Faux Gourmet was established in 2012 with two simple beliefs: first, that women should have as many options in their kitchen apparel as they do shoes and handbags, and second, that food doesn't have to be complicated to be beautiful. We are committed to providing the very best in over-the-top kitchen couture, along with simple, visually impressive recipes to empower every woman to look- and cook- like a modern domestic goddess...whether that definition of "cooking" is whipping up a gourmet culinary masterpiece, or flawlessly operating an espresso machine and speed-dialing the best takeout in town! The most memorable culinary experiences are really all about the frills anyway, aren't they?
But this is more than just mere kitchen apparel. It will also make an impact on the lives of others...
You see, the Faux Gourmet has also officially partnered with the Philabundance hunger relief organization, and proceeds from every sale of each Tutu Fabulous Collection apron will provide approximately 20 meals for those in need.
