Slow Cooker Pork Chops over Brown Rice

Slow Cooker Pork Chops - Foodidude.com
        Yes, I love to cook. But even so, I too, often find myself grappling with limited time to prepare the kind of meal I find creatively fulfilling. At those times, I look for whatever shortcuts I have a my disposal. But a shortcut in time does not necessarily have to mean a shortcut in taste. Here is a recipe that takes about 10 minutes to prep, and all you have to do from there is enjoy the aroma of its fragrant until dinner time!

Ingredients:
  • 6-8 pork chops, bone in
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1-1/4 cup chicken stock
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1-1/2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp poultry seasoning or Goya Adobo
  • 1/4 tsp thyme leaves
  • pinch of fennel seeds
  • salt and pepper
Preparation:
  1. Combine olive oil, chicken stock, garlic, garlic powder, paprika, parsley, oregano, brown sugar, seasoning, thyme and fennel in a large bowl and whisk thoroughly.
  2. Pour half the contents of bowl into slow cooker or crock pot.
  3. Season each pork chop with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Place pork chops in slow cooker or crock pot.
  5. Pour remaining liquid over pork chops.
  6. Cook on low for 6 or 7 hours, basting periodically.
